Floating - Antidote to the 21st century

It is no secret that our bodies no longer fit our world, what was evolutionarily advantageous to a hunter gatherer is not necessarily advantageous to a Londoner. Our stress response system for example is perfectly developed to deal with sudden immediate dangers which require muscular activity to ensure our survival. Most modern stressors are much more long term, regarding jobs, finance, relationships etc and very few of these actually require any muscular activity at all. As a result the vast majority of us have a surfeit of adrenaline and cortisol in our systems. This not only makes us tenser and more irritable, but can interfere with our decision making and even have adverse effects on our immune system, sleep and digestion.

Floatation encourages the body's own systems to neutralise these excess stress hormones leaving you cool, calm, collected and better able to deal with life's challenges.

Acupuncture

As of May 16th Sean Heneghan, a Traditional Acupuncturist will be joining the team at Floatopia. Sean has over 8 years of training in Oriental medicine, and prior to obtaining a degree in Acupuncture studied the massage and bodywork systems of the East. Although most commonly known for its ability to deal effectively with pain, Traditional Acupuncture is a highly effective treatment for a vast array of physical, mental and emotional problems. Sean's approach is to diagnose the most fundamental imbalance at the root of a patients constitution, the addressing of which helps to resolve not only the symptoms present but also to create profound lasting changes in health.
Full details of Sean and the treatment can be found on his website: www.seanheneghan.com

Float with a friend

Many of you will have already received details of our float with a friend offer in May, but it is such a good offer that I felt it was worth repeating nonetheless. If you bring a new client to floatopia during May one of you can float completely free!!! So now that reluctant / sceptical / impoverished, friend / relative / partner has one less reason to avoid trying a float and we all know how much good it would do them! So do book one in now.

You wrote the book

The monthly opportunity for you to contribute when I choose a couple of quotes from the visitors book.

"Lovely float, I am disabled and in a wheel chair but I could do this without arm bands. I can't wait till the next time, everybody should do this." Sarah

"I had a "new ideas float", I have been longing for that. Can't stop to tell you more - I'm off to change my world!" Mary

Float work

Yamina, who has worked Saturdays for a couple of years, is sadly leaving us at the end of June, so we have a vacancy. If any of you know anyone who would like to have the opportunity to work one day a week at floatopia, do please ask them to contact me.

Free Floats

All that remains is to announce that the lucky new subscriber who wins a free float to be taken by June 30th is Alan YJ Chuang . So do give us a call to book yourself in.

That's all for this month - hope to relax you all soon
